Our Story

Paying homage to the Swedish punk band The Refused, the name New Noise speaks to the ever-evolving nature of creative industries.

The creative studio was founded in 2018 by Steve Jones, and quickly grew to accommodate Steve’s existing freelance clients. We aim to deliver high quality and efficient creative services and contributing to projects large and small, as a result, we have retained a solid roster of clients and seen substantial growth year on year.

During the height of the COVID-19 lockdown, Zweli started contributing to projects, and in December 2020 Steve and Zweli combined their skill sets and merged as a team; enabling the business to offer a greater range of services under the co-directorship of the couple.

At the beginning of 2023, New Noise established an office space adjoining the sound studio, to accommodate a growing team on-site, where we work in collaboration with other remote-based and freelance team members.

Our Values

Sustainability

Our business model favours responsible business practices, placing people and the natural environment at the forefront of our decision-making and daily operations.

Transparency

We aim to be transparent in everything that we do. Sharing what and how we do things means that we can learn from each other, enabling us to adapt quickly, continually improve and ultimately evolve and grow into a better version of ourselves over time.

Ubuntu

We believe in the inherent good that humanity is capable of. Our intention is to treat anyone that we come into contact with the way we would like to be treated - with kindness, optimism and truth.

Community

We rely heavily on the networks around us, and believe that our strength as a studio lies in the ability to collaborate with talented individuals and teams. We are intent on building and growing the community of people that we work with and serve.

Balance

We work smart and have a flexible studio environment, which allows us to harness our best selves every day. Sometimes starting the day with a surf, yoga or Pilates before getting down to work means that we will be happier, more productive and produce better work.
